TENS Machine Hire

TENS stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation and provides a drug-free kind of pain relief. This can be used for all sorts of pain and is often used by women in early labour.

A TENS machine sends small, safe pulses of electrical current via leads to electrode pads which are held your skin and held in place by a firm gel. The pulses pass through your skin and into your muscles and tissues. This gives you a gentle tingling or buzzing sensation. The intensity of pulses can be increased or lowered based on the pain being experienced.

• Electrical pulses from a TENS machine prevent pain signals reaching the brain.
• TENS pulses release natural feel-good substances call endorphins.
• It helps you feel in control of labour and feel less anxious.
• It offers a distraction from contractions.

Rental Information

Rental is $70.00 for 6 weeks + $50.00 bond + $8.99 postage - includes return bag (free delivery & pick up for our Hamilton mamas!)

The $50.00 bond is fully refundable based upon return and inspection of the machine

If your require the TENS machine for a longer period then there will be an additional charge of $10.00 per week - just give us a message and we can organise this for you. 

Please return the TENS machine on the arranged return date using the free postage bag provided to you - or contact us if you are a local Mum.

Please give us a message if you have any questions or if your selected dates aren't available via the booking calendar - we may have early returns and be able to accommodate.

Terms & Conditions

 

By hiring a TENS machine through Ownness you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Your hired TENS machine always remains the property of Ownness Limited. 

2. The TENS machine is to be used by the person who's details are on the booking form and is not to be used by other individuals.

3. Refunds for non-faulty TENS units will not be provided once the TENS unit has been dispatched.

4. A refund will not be given if the hirer does not end up using the TENS. 

5. In the event of cancellation the hire fee will be refunded less an administration fee of $10.

6. The success of Elle TENS is neither guaranteed nor implied, It’s effect varies from person to person, and varies between a person’s unique circumstance.

7. You must not use a labour TENS machine before 37 weeks of pregnancy; over the abdomen at any time during your labour or at all or on the head; near water or in the vicinity of children. You must not use a TENS machine if you have a pacemaker; heart disease; any heart rhythm problem; suffer from epilepsy; suffering from any acute feverish condition; suffering from infectious disease or tumours. The TENS is not to be used while driving or operating any machinery. 

8. Please check with your care provider to ensure that using a labour TENS machine is right for you. You should only use your labour TENS machine under advice and guidance from your care provider.

9. The Elle TENS is to only be used following the instructions provided.

10. The hirer agrees to return the TENS machine, its accessories EXCLUDING the sticky electrode pads - these can be disposed of,  to Ownness at 60 Naylor Street, Hamilton East, Hamilton 3216, by the end of the hire period by using the return postage bag and dropping off at your local NZ post shop. 

11. We understand that things break, and can so unexpectedly. If your Elle TENS machine is returned to us damaged by misuse, you agree to pay for the repair or replacement costs of the machine and its accessories. If the hire product is lost or stolen, you agree to pay the full retail cost of the unit and accessories and Ownness has the right to keep the $50.00 bond paid at the time of booking.

12. Any late returns will incur a fee of $10 per week - unless an agreement has been made prior with Ownness. 

13. Our machines and parts are cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant after each rental period.
